I’m incredibly surprised that, towards the end of his time, more people didn’t tell Dali to shut the fuck up. A celebrity riding on the fame of his younger paintings, using his eccentricity to nag his way back into the limelight. I can barely stand him during his programme (Discovering Dali) and his attitude towards people is disgusting.
He was a genius, that his name is intrinsically linked to surrealism and it never would’ve been what it was without him. Although, in my opinion, one of the greatest things he’d ever done was be photographed by Philippe Halsman (above).
